Frequently Asked Questions
What is Repcade?
A workout planner and tracker. You build a multi-week training program, log what you actually do in the gym, and the app turns that into progression: personal bests, strength ratings, XP and levels, goals, and a large catalog of achievements. It runs in your browser and works like an installed app on your phone.
Is it free?
The test build is free to use. The intended free version is designed around dependable local storage plus manual backup and restore. The planned Premium upgrade adds convenience and automation: account-based online storage, automatic cross-device sync, and automated mesocycle progression with built-in deloads. Testers may see these features before paid plans launch; the final tier boundary and payment model are still being defined.
Do I need an account?
No. The app works fully without one - open it and start. An optional account (Settings, "Sign In") adds cloud sync: your training data backed up to your account and shared across devices. Skipping it changes nothing else.
Where is my data stored?
By default, on your device in the browser's local storage. If you choose to sign in and enable cloud sync, a copy of your training data is stored for your account so it can follow you across devices. Repcade does not use behavioural analytics or advertising telemetry.
Can I lose my data?
Yes, and it is worth understanding how. When you use Repcade without optional cloud sync, your data lives in this browser on this device:
- Clearing your browser's site data for this site erases your training history.
- Your data does not follow you to another browser or device.
- Some browsers evict site data under storage pressure if a site has not been used for a long time.
Use Settings // Export Backup to download a complete copy regularly. You can restore that file from first-time setup or Settings on any Repcade device. This is the free version's manual safety net; signed-in testers may also use automatic cloud sync.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the app has loaded, it can be installed to your home screen (it is a PWA) and works without a connection. You only need to be online to receive updates.
Which devices and browsers work?
The app is designed portrait-first for phones but runs anywhere a modern browser runs. Recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari are all expected to work. If something misbehaves on your setup, that is a bug report worth sending.
Are the strength ratings medical or coaching advice?
No. Ratings compare your estimated lifts against general population strength standards, purely for context and motivation. They do not account for age, injury history, or individual circumstances - and the app says so in plain terms where it matters. See the terms for the full disclaimer, and talk to a professional about what is right for you.
How do I report a bug or suggest something?
Email contact@repcade.com - the contact page has a short checklist of what to include so it can be fixed fast.
